Every minor performer under the age of 18 must obtain a valid six-month Employment Permit for a Child Performer through the New York State Department of Labor to be eligible for employment. Information on how to obtain this permit can be found here. In order to register with Central Casting, minors are REQUIRED to have a current (i.e., UNEXPIRED) six-month child performers permit physically with them at registration.
If the minor performer has never applied for a work permit previously, then a temporary 15-day work permit can be printed after completing the online application. If the minor performer has already printed a 15-day work permit, the minor must physically have an unexpired six-month permit on set. The production company must keep this permit on file. If the minor is not physically in possession of a current (i.e., unexpired) work permit, then the minor is not legally allowed to work; failure to comply with this requirement could result in a fine.
Arrive camera ready and be prepared to be photographed. We suggest upscale attire. Know your measurements and clothing sizes (in numbers, not Small, Medium or Large).
*** Headshots are welcome, so if you would like to submit additional photos to be added to your profile, simply bring your photos to the Central Casting office.
